Marc Anthony, J Lo end their marriage of seven years

Most people did not see it coming, including the former American Idol co-creator Simon Cowell (he said, “They always seemed to get on so well.”), but Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez have called it quits.

In a statement issued by Lopez’s publicist, they announced, “We have decided to end our marriage. This was a very difficult decision. We have come to amicable conclusion on all matters. It is a painful time for all involved and we appreciate the respect of our privacy at this time.”

“All matters” would include the couple’s twins, Emme and Max. Naturally, the public is not privvy to all the details, so there are alot of outstanding questions concerning, custody, how this split will affect Lopez’s role on Idol, and the fate of “Q’Viva!,” the new reality TV show being jointly produced by the two Latin stars.

What is known is that Anthony will be licking his wounds through song. He currently has nearly a dozen shows booked during September, including a two-night stay at the American Airlines Arena in Miami, and also two nights at the Gibson Amphitheatre at Universal City, Calif.

Stay tuned to see how this drama further unfolds.

Marc Anthony’s New Album, Iconos

Tomorrow, May 25th, the brand new album from Marc Anthony, Iconos, will be available in stores everywhere!  His first studio album in four years is an all Spanish collection of ballads with two new original songs written by Marc himself.

Iconos is a project that Marc holds close to his heart, a tribute to the greatest Latin American songwriters of our time, “Most of the songs included on the album I listened to over and over as a kid at home while I was growing up.  My father used to put them on all the time… They just don’t write songs like this anymore, I wanted to celebrate artists that had the guts at the time to be so daring.” (Read More…)

Marc and J.Lo. visit the president and more!

Marc Anthony is still on tour throughout the winter for a limited number of dates, including shows in Florida and California through November. His tour is still in support of his 2007 album “El Cantante.”

When he’s not busy touring, he and his wife, J. Lo., are visiting schools and President Obama in Washington, D.C.! The couple recently made a surprise visit to the San Miguel Middle School in the district, much to the delight of the children at the all-boys school.

The couple also recently bought a condo in Miami, which Marc Anthony said would be the “sexiest place in town” after it was decorated. If you ask me, the best place in town is where these two beautiful, talented people are!
